Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Development of Automated Testing Programs
    • Design and implement automated integration tests, automated functional tests, and automated API tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our software systems.
  • Contribute to Digital Engineering Models
    • Develop and maintain Digital Engineering models that drive the evolution of our software-intensive systems, ensuring alignment with customer needs and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with End Users and Customers
    • Work closely with end users to understand their mission needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
    • Collaborate with customers and sponsors to develop and manage Program-level Product Backlogs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Work with Software Development Teams
    • Partner with software development teams to turn Product Backlogs into working software, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Recommend Software Upgrades and Migration Strategies
    • Provide expert advice on software upgrades and migration strategies for customers' existing programs and systems, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum benefit.
  • Design and Implement Software Systems
    • Design each piece of an application or system, planning how the pieces will work together to meet customer needs.
    • Create a variety of models and diagrams (such as flowcharts) to inform software system development and ensure clarity of design.
  • Ensure Software Maintenance and Testing
    • Ensure that a program continues to function normally through software maintenance and testing, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Document Software Systems
    • Document every aspect of an application or system as a reference for future maintenance and upgrades, ensuring knowledge retention and transfer.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams
    • Work across sponsor domains and collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team to create solutions and implementation strategies to improve quality and accelerate delivery of software systems to the field.
  • Stay Current with Technical Developments
    • Learn new tools, techniques, and practices to stay abreast of the ever-evolving technical landscape, ensuring continued expertise and relevance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • At least 5 years experience in a similar role in the tech industry.
    • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
    • Proven experience in developing automated testing systems.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
    • Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
    • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
    • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
    • Understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
    • Experience in developing Digital Engineering models.
    • Knowledge of system architecture and software development lifecycle.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with performance and/or security testing.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
    • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
    • Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD).
    • Proficiency in using project management tools like Jira or Trello.
    • Experience with version control systems like Git.
    • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development principles.
