We are currently looking for a Lead Pharmacist to oversee our pharmacy operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and compliant functioning of our hospital pharmacy. The Lead Pharmacist will perform essential duties in a hospital setting, guaranteeing the safety and security of medications while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the hospital pharmacy and its staff.
  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Guide pharmacy technicians in daily operations.
  • Provide information to patients and healthcare professionals regarding medications, including interactions and side effects.
  • Maintain established protocols for quality assurance and the security of controlled substances.
  • Document patient information and medication details to ensure accurate pharmacy records.
  • Assess medications for identity, purity, and strength.
  • Educate interns and other medical staff on pharmacy-related matters.
  • Engage with patients as necessary.
  • Participate in training programs, both traditional and online.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hospital staff and departments.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations.
  • Execute all responsibilities with the company’s mission and values in mind.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm D) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Degree (BS Pharm).
  • Active State Pharmacist License.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in using industry-related software and technology.
  • Ability to quickly learn departmental structures and policies.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong supervisory skills, including training and directing pharmacy personnel.
  • Mathematical proficiency for calculating medication dosages and other relevant figures.
  • Excellent communication skills for fostering professional relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and data interpretation.
