Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to provide exceptional care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role involves working in a telemetry unit, focusing on patient monitoring and support.

Certification Requirements
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in a hospital setting, providing care for patients over a 13-week contract.
  • Must possess BLS and ACLS certifications.
Essential Qualifications
  • NIHSS certification is required.
  • Ability to titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin. Insulin is administered at a set rate.
  • No sedation drips are permitted.
  • RNs must be proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips.
  • Experience with Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow oxygen is necessary.
Work Schedule
  • Registered Nurses will work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • Certified Nursing Assistants will work 8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
  • Flexible scheduling options are available, with weekend requirements every other weekend.
  • Participation in holiday rotations is expected.
Unit Information
  • Unit: 3W Stepdown with 28 private beds.
  • Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
  • Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:4-5, with a maximum of 1:6 during high acuity.
  • Current EMR system is Cerner, transitioning to Epic.
  • Scrub color is navy blue, with matching jackets if worn.
Additional Information
  • All submissions must include a valid copy of the candidate's driver's license.
  • Applicants cannot apply for more than one position at a time within the healthcare system.
  • Charge nurses may have no assignments during the day shift, while night charge nurses may have an assignment.
  • Two nurse aides will be present during the day and mid-shift; no CNA will be available at night after 11 PM.
  • Telemonitoring is available, and nurses will also manage the central monitoring station.
  • Hospitalists are on-site 24/7, with intensivists available in the ICU during the day and on-call after hours.
  • No dedicated IV team; however, ICU charge nurses can assist with difficult IV placements.
  • Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7.
  • Floating to the ICU may occur as needed.
  • Orientation includes two shifts with a preceptor.
  • Common patient diagnoses include cardiac issues, dysrhythmias, and CVAs, as well as patients downgraded from the ICU.
