The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sport and travel program, selecting teams for travel seasons, developing daily practice schedules, and supervising students at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the sport and travel program, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Select teams for travel seasons, taking into account factors such as skill level, team dynamics, and competition.
- Develop daily practice schedules that are engaging, challenging, and tailored to the needs of each team.
- Supervise students at all times during practices and games, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Check on the eligibility of all athletes, ensuring compliance with school and league regulations.
- Check attendance daily, monitoring student participation and engagement.
- Establish rules and expectations for athletes, promoting a positive and respectful team culture.
- Supervise students to away games on bus, ensuring their safety and comfort during travel.
- Issue equipment and collect it at the end of the season, maintaining accurate records and inventory.
- Secure building permits and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Be aware of MSSADA Rules and Regulations, staying up-to-date on the latest policies and procedures.
- CPR Training and completion of the Concussion in Sports course are required for all coaching candidates.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the sport or activity, with a strong understanding of its rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to successfully instruct and encourage athletes, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
- CPR/First Aid and Coaches Education and Concussion certified, with a strong commitment to student safety and well-being.
