Job Summary

Radford University seeks a highly motivated and experienced Residence Life Manager to join our team. Reporting to one of two Assistant Directors for Residence Life, the successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive management of 1-2 residence halls, housing approximately 500 residents and supervising 8-12 Resident Assistants.

The Residence Life Manager will serve as an active and visible residential life staff member, responsible for facilitating an engaging building community-level residential experience that is highly relational; fosters curiosity and learning; centers well-being; and supports students in successfully finding their way.

This is a full-time, twelve-month live-in position that includes a furnished on-campus apartment including utilities and a partial meal plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the residential engagement model, administration and supervision, support for student development, crisis management, student conduct administration, community development, collaboration with physical facility management, university and departmental committee assignments and a summer collateral assignment.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that promote student learning, personal growth, and community engagement.
  • Supervise and evaluate Resident Assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality residential services.
  • Collaborate with university departments and community partners to develop and implement programs that support student success and well-being.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports related to residential operations, student conduct, and community engagement.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in residence life or a related field, with a focus on student development and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to student-centered services.
  • Knowledge of residence life best practices, including crisis management, student conduct, and community development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, with a focus on program development and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of learning communities, collaboration with faculty and other campus constituents, and experience with student conduct, group advising, crisis response, behavior interventions, program coordination, and recruitment and training for student groups.
