Ecologist / Environmental Scientist Job Description

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Ecologist / Environmental Scientist to join our team in Mount Dora, FL. As part of our growing office, you will assist with ecological field assessments for projects in the mining, energy, and commercial development industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct protected species surveys, vegetative monitoring, hydrologic monitoring, and water quality sampling.
  • Support other ecological assessments and reporting.
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and regulatory agency staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a natural resources field (e.g., biology, zoology, botany, ecology, or environmental science).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a natural resources professional.
  • Strong preference for candidates with a FFWCC Gopher Tortoise Authorized Agent permit.
  • Proficiency in Avenza, ESRI Field maps, sub-meter GPS, and data processing.
  • Experience operating a 4x4 truck is preferred.
