Cardiac Nurse Specialist

Seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Waterbury Hospital.
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in our Cardiac Care Unit, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals with cardiac conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Triages patient calls and responds to messages, using clinical judgment to determine the level of care required.
- Educates patients on testing, imaging, and cardiac procedures, ensuring they understand their treatment plans.
- Schedules appointments and reviews patient information, including lab results and previous histories, to provide comprehensive care.
- Implements physician orders and notifies patients of results, maintaining effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Remains up-to-date on electronic health record policies and procedures, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Participates in meetings, committees, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Responds to in-office triage requests for patients experiencing acute medical distress, providing timely and effective care.
- Assists in the onboarding and training of new clinical staff, promoting a culture of excellence.
- Reviews workflow and identifies areas for improvement, communicating with the Practice Administrator to optimize patient care.
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and a valid Connecticut State Registered Nurse License are required. A minimum of three years of RN experience in a cardiac, telemetry, or intensive care setting is preferred. BLS certification is required, with ACLS certification a plus.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to bodily fluids, illness, and disease is a potential risk. The ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment is essential.
