Help Protect Oregon's Fish and Wildlife
We are seeking a skilled Wildlife GIS Analyst to join our team at the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical assistance and GIS services to support our mission of protecting and enhancing Oregon's fish and wildlife and their habitats.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide GIS services to support the needs of our Wildlife Division, including the processing, creation, maintenance, development, and updating of maps and spatial datasets.
- Create custom maps, web maps with forms for field data collection, tables, data sets, and analyses for our agency programs.
- Provide technical support to agency staff over the phone and in person, in the form of 'help desk' style training in the use of GIS and related information management software and interfaces.
Working Conditions
This role requires extended, daily use of a computer to type, analyze, and summarize data in an office environment. Occasional overnight travel may be required. You will also be working with others in development and delivery of spatial and tabular data, maps and applications for use in resource management, regulation, and collaborative decision-making activities.
Requirements
This position requires a strong focus on the needs of the Wildlife Division and a flexible work schedule that varies in the number of hours worked on a daily basis.
