Job Summary

CooperVision, a leading manufacturer of soft contact lenses, is seeking a skilled Production Operator 2 to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing various functions associated with the fabrication of contact lenses using advanced machines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of manufacturing tasks, including operating specialized equipment and following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of work areas, adhering to 5S principles and helping to train other operators on these procedures.
  • May operate advanced equipment necessary for specific product groups, such as toric generator lathing and metrology equipment.
  • Participate in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to drive process improvements and efficiency.
  • Assist coordinators and technicians in managing workflow and demonstrating leadership skills.
  • Work extended hours, including mandatory overtime, to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience, particularly in medical device manufacturing and packaging, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and participate in team-based initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, cGMPs, and SOPs, with a commitment to compliance and quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, solvents, and noise. The position involves standing, sitting, walking, and bending, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
