Job Description

As a key member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you will play a vital role in enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the daily workflow for a small team under the direction of the site lead and/or supervisor, ensuring high levels of customer service in support of our contractual obligations.
  • May oversee service offerings including order/stockroom/dock management, procurement, material handling, chemical tracking, glass wash, media/reagent preparation, and cell culture support operations.
  • Effectively lead a diverse cross-functional team of on-site lab specialists, responsible for complete employee lifecycle management, including new hire selection, training needs identification, development training coordination, and employee performance evaluations.
  • Deliver on committed contractual scope of work, assist with supervising business metrics, and act as liaison between customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • Implement SOPs, conduct site audits, and assist with completion of annual physical inventory, driving process improvement culture by supporting Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positively, and be involved with and support safety programs such as hazard identification, conduct inspections, and incident reporting/investigations as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.
  • 3+ years of progressive, proven experience required, with experience working in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment and International Air Transport Association (IATA)/ U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Goods certification required.
  • Leadership abilities and interpersonal skills are required to lead and enhance team culture, strong verbal and written communication skills, and computer proficiency with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Possesses strong analytical abilities to problem solve, make timely decisions, re-balance staff workloads, and coordinate multiple overlapping priorities, while functioning in a fast-paced work environment.
