Be a Free Speech Advocate:

FIRE is expanding its litigation capabilities and seeks a skilled Free Speech Advocate to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania or Washington, D.C. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned attorney with 6-10 years of civil-litigation experience to make a meaningful impact in the field of First Amendment law.

Responsibilities:
- Engage in strategic litigation on First Amendment issues to bring about real-world impact
- Conduct research and draft high-quality legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and motions
- Direct discovery strategy and manage document reviews
- Represent FIRE in court and participate in hearings, trials, and other proceedings
- Supervise and mentor staff attorneys and litigation fellows

Requirements:
- 6-10 years of civil-litigation experience
- Exceptional legal research, critical thinking, and writing skills
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers
- Excellent organizational and case-management skills
