Staff Full Stack Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Full Stack Engineer to join our team at Upbound Console. As the face of the product, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional user experiences that delight and impress our customers. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the overall business and product success.

Key Responsibilities
  • User Experience Design: Create end-user facing experiences for Upbound Console, ensuring seamless interactions and high-quality visualizations.
  • Backend Development: Design and develop declarative, RESTful, and GraphQL APIs to retrieve application data and build dynamic interfaces.
  • Single Page Application Optimization: Enhance Single Page Applications (SPAs) across diverse environments, guaranteeing optimal performance and reliability.
  • Bug Reporting and Fixing: Identify and resolve bugs in private and public projects, maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Design and implement test plans, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure robust code.
  • Mentorship and Feedback: Guide junior team members and provide constructive feedback on pull requests and design documents.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Partner with other disciplines and roles, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Project Lifecycle Support: Contribute to the full project lifecycle, from discovery to production-readiness.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience in developing responsive and performant User Interfaces (UIs) with TypeScript.
  • Developed interfaces addressing cloud computing infrastructure management or Kubernetes management concerns.
  • Designed reliable, beautiful, and delightful Single Page Applications (SPAs) using React.
  • Developed APIs and services tuned for performance, observability, security, scalability, and high reliability.
  • Written test plans and implemented test cases to maintain high-quality code, utilizing Jest, react-testing-library, and Cypress.
  • Familiarity with CSS best practices for designing responsive user interfaces, such as Flex and Grid.
  • Experience managing application state with libraries like Redux.
  • Optimized packaging and deployment with bundling tools like Webpack.
  • Understood the importance of owning the 'face' of the product and its impact on customer experience.
  • Architected and deployed highly scaled and reliable applications in multiple environments.
  • Integrated modern operational and application delivery tools and methodologies into production workflows, including CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps.
Preferred Qualifications

A plus if you have:

  • Worked in a startup environment and understand its unique challenges.
  • Contributed to backend services written in Go.
  • Been responsible for deploying/managing workloads running on Kubernetes in production.
  • Publicly spoken at technology conferences, blogged/written technical articles, or contributed to popular open-source projects.
