Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the MedSurg unit. This is a Full-Time Day position.
The Registered Nurse plays a vital role within a collaborative team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. The clinical environment is managed by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, emphasizing evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are aligned with these models and reinforced by the Wellstar Values.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the nursing practice standards as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, implementing the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards established by the American Nurses Association. As part of the patient services team, individuals are expected to uphold the voice of the patient and comply with system policies and procedures while promoting service excellence.

- A. Executes the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence-based practice, employing analytical and critical thinking to ensure individualized care and effective partnerships for optimal patient outcomes. B. Delivers relationship-based, patient-centered care that reflects an understanding of cultural diversity and adapts service delivery to meet population-specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease, etc.). C. Engages with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for communication and education (e.g., bedside shift report; interdisciplinary rounds; timely patient teaching) to keep them informed and focused on their care goals. D. Adheres to current clinical practice standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that aligns with the professional care delivery model, including diverse interdisciplinary communication methods and timely documentation to foster a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner that promotes the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives involving all stakeholders, engaging in research and research utilization to enhance safe, quality patient care, and actively supports shared governance at all levels within the system.

- Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific training.
- Acts as a preceptor and/or mentor for other nursing professionals and staff to ensure a qualified workforce, modeling professional nursing practice and fostering a healthy work environment.

- Advocates for evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Engages in activities such as value analysis to inform decision-making regarding patient care products.

- Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in nursing or graduation from an accredited/approved nursing school is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Required Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience is required.
- Required Minimum Skills
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; adept at utilizing technology to support clinical care; possesses basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with composure and respect.
- Excellent time management skills; employs evidence-based practices and analytical skills in nursing.

- Registered Nurse (Single State) is required.
