Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, strengths, and learning goals.
  • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in both individual and small group settings, using a variety of teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt and modify instructional materials and strategies to support student inclusion in the general classroom.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, making data-driven decisions to adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing insight into student progress, setting measurable goals, and recommending appropriate accommodations and services.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages independence and self-advocacy in students.
  • Work closely with school administrators, specialists, and support staff to coordinate services and ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations, including IDEA.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and to involve them in their child's education.
  • Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, special education laws, and instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
