Position Summary:
As a Vascular Imaging Specialist, you will conduct a variety of routine and specialized ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a radiologist. Your role will involve ensuring patient safety and comfort while delivering high-quality imaging services.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Radiology Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
As part of your duties, you will:

  1. Prepare and execute diagnostic medical sonography examinations in accordance with established protocols.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of ultrasound equipment following infection control standards.
  3. Employ sterile techniques during surgical and biopsy procedures.
  4. Accurately label and organize lab specimens.
  5. Utilize appropriate patient positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure safety and comfort.
  6. Be available for standby and on-call duties as required.
  7. Efficiently use PACS, RIS, and current EMR systems while completing necessary documentation.
  8. Keep licensure and certifications current and comply with continuing education requirements.
  9. Maintain an active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is a requirement for employment.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Completion of an ARDMS-approved educational program with clinical ultrasound experience.
  • ARDMS registered or eligible, with a commitment to obtain registration in specialized areas (OB/GYN, ABD) within six months of hire.
  • ARDMS registered in vascular technology or within one year of employment.

Desired:

  • Proficiency in computer usage, including accurate typing and email communication.

Physical/Sensory Demands:
Responsibilities may require:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous reaching and repetitive movements.

Working Conditions:
This role involves working in both independent and collaborative settings, often under time constraints and stressful conditions. General supervision is provided by the Practice Manager, with additional guidance from physicians.
