We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Neonatal ICU team at UVA Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based care to critically ill infants and their families.
Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill infants in a level 4, tertiary center
- Collaborate with medical directors, administrative management, nursing, and other interprofessional team members to facilitate patient care and management
- Exercise independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical processes and procedures
- Perform and document comprehensive health histories and physical assessments
- Formulate diagnoses, identify problems, and health risk profiles, and communicate with other members of the healthcare team
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with peers and colleagues
- Perform procedures within scope of practice and UVA Health System credentialing and privileges
- Order medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with Virginia Prescriptive regulations
- Request consultation and initiate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Evaluate and analyze patient responses to the disease process and/or therapeutic, diagnostic interventions
- Provide information, education, and support to patients/families regarding disease processes and treatment plans
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as appropriate and as determined by department or unit
- Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree
- One to two years minimum NICU experience as an Advanced Practice Provider; Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred
- License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia
UVA Health offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $161,304 per year, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
