Job Summary

The OA/CTS Manager plays a pivotal role in steering the direction of our outreach, admissions, and career transition services at Iroquois Job Corps. This leadership position requires a strong understanding of counseling techniques, the ability to identify and evaluate the emotional needs of young adults, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Outreach and Admissions:
    1. Supervise Outreach and Admissions programs and operations.
    2. Ensure Admission goals are monitored and met.
    3. Participate in the folder review process for student/employee applicants.
    4. Assist in the process of student accommodations to ensure a plan is implemented prior to arrival at the center.
    5. Coordinate Community Relations activities and related committees.
  • Student Retention:
    1. Work closely with the Counseling Department, Career Preparation, and Student Human Resources staff on retention strategies.
    2. Develop retention strategies to assist Admissions Counselors in ensuring students are retained and graduate from the program.
  • Career Transition Services:
    1. Supervise Career Transition Services programs and operations.
    2. Ensure Career Transition Services goals are monitored and met.
    3. Develop and implement a Career Transition Readiness curriculum.
    4. Work closely with CTS staff to improve FE's and Graduate Placement outcomes.
    5. Foster strategic employer relationships to expand job opportunities for students.
  • Staff Oversight and Development:
    1. Ensure staff have adequate training to complete key areas of responsibilities.
    2. Provide documented training to staff.
    3. Provide Cross-training for department employees.
    4. Coordinate staff meetings.
    5. Provide timely staff evaluations.
  • Other:
    1. Monitor budget and related areas for the department and maintain spending limits.
    2. Assist in coordinating and communicating between departments for efficient operations.
    3. Act as a trusted advisor to the Center Director and be a member of the senior leadership team.
    4. Perform all other duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field, and two years related supervisory experience.
  • Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field, and four years related supervisory experience.
