Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as a clinician, educator, and resource for patients, both in person and via the patient portal.
  • Prepare patients for provider visits, including history taking, vital sign measurement, and medication reconciliation.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation in the patient's electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
  • Preauthorize care, procedures, and medications with insurance companies.
  • Coordinate care and testing needs for patients.
  • Complete necessary forms for referrals and FMLA.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants or equivalent work experience if NHA* certified.
  • Current CMA Certification.
  • High school diploma.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
  • Knowledge of clinical skill techniques, procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A positive and team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to assist providers in a professional manner.
