Job Summary

The Care Promoter is an unlicensed medical professional who performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep our medical centers running smoothly. This role is an integral part of a Physician-lead Care Team that provides excellent and comprehensive primary care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and record patient vital signs and medical history
  • Communicate patient needs to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist, and other clinical personnel
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
  • Assist physicians with exams and explain treatment procedures to patients
  • Observe patients and report any changes in patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist, and other clinical personnel
  • Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions
  • Collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens and perform basic waived lab tests
  • Prepare and administer medications, change dressings, and apply bandages
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilize instruments
  • Practice OSHA safety standards and perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required
  • Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally recognized certifying agency required
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Medical Assistant required
  • A minimum of 1 year of MA experience with ChenMed required
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
  • EMR system experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required
