We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our vehicle maintenance shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Coordinate the daily activities of the shop, including work priorities, schedules, and assignments.
- Plan and Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for vehicles and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective repairs.
- Analyze and Diagnose vehicle malfunctions, estimating repair costs and comparing them to original estimates.
- Train and Develop technicians, providing guidance and on-the-job training to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
- Manage Inventory and Supplies ensuring that all necessary equipment, materials, and tools are available and properly maintained.
- Inspect and Maintain equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring they meet specifications and are in good working condition.
- Maintain Accurate Records and files, including maintenance schedules, repair records, and inventory management.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with six years of progressively responsible experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, including two years at the journey level.
- Knowledge and Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of internal combustion engines, including diesel and motor vehicle systems and sub-assemblies. Thorough knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques, repair practices, and technical manuals used in vehicle maintenance. Ability to diagnose and correct vehicle malfunctions, and to supervise and train technicians.
- Preferred Qualifications: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent, and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.
