Job Summary:

Beatrix Market - DePaul Loop is seeking a skilled Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and Serve Beverages: Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Greet guests with a warm and sincere smile, and use tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Safely and effectively move chairs, tables, highchairs, and booster seats, and maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Operate Point of Sale System: Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Upsell and Promote: Use sales techniques to present and encourage current promotions to guests, and understand and respond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu.

Requirements:

  • Availability: Available to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends.
  • Physical Demands: Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction.
  • Teamwork: Get along well with others and be a team player.
