Position Summary
This role involves the assembly of metal products, either partially or fully, and the precise positioning of components. You will work from your understanding of the unit or adhere to blueprints, diagrams, layouts, or verbal instructions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Position components based on your understanding of the assembly unit or according to blueprints.
  • Secure parts together using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners with hand, air, and/or power tools.
  • Remove small amounts of metal to ensure a close fit between components.
  • Operate machinery to perform force fitting or fastening tasks as specified.
  • Conduct duties safely and efficiently, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist in training and instructing others as requested by the supervisor.
  • This position may require additional responsibilities and the ability to work overtime.


Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: 0-2 years or more
  • Travel: Less than 10%
  • Ability to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must be capable of working quickly and under time constraints for extended periods to meet production goals. Proficiency in reading build sheets and blueprints is essential.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and colleagues in both written and verbal forms, typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Job-specific skills, techniques, and safe operational practices are learned through on-the-job training and classroom instruction. General guidance is provided for recurring tasks, while detailed instructions are given for new assignments.

This position is represented by the United Steelworkers ("USW") at Bobcat's Rogers location. Employees in this role, as a condition of employment, must become members of the Union and maintain their membership in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
