Job Overview
The Contracting Specialist I will support the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office (AFRCO) and the Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition Special Programs Division (SAF/AQL) in planning and managing acquisitions for a range of products and services critical to national security.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and managing acquisitions for various products and services within the contracts division.
- Deliver cradle-to-grave contract support, including pre-award and post-award activities such as conducting market research and preparing solicitation documentation, reviewing proposals for compliance, performing cost and price evaluations, assisting in negotiation strategies, and maintaining contract files.
- Collaborate with the Contracting Officer in developing acquisition strategies, determining contract methods and types based on project needs, and supporting contract oversight by reviewing issues and budget constraints.
- Apply knowledge of contracting for complex programs, using various methodologies per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), and Air Force Acquisition Regulations (AFFARS).
- Manage contract actions from initiation through closeout, ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least one year of relevant Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or industry experience in a Special Access Program (SAP) or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environment within the past five years.
- Valid and active driver's license.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI Poly).
