OSP Engineer Job Description

Mountain Ltd. is a leading telecommunications service provider seeking a skilled OSP Engineer to join our team in the Portsmouth, OH area.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced OSP Engineer to work on various projects, including outside plant engineering, design, permitting, right of way, CAD drafting, and project management. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of conduit design, pole line design, and cable sag, span lengths, pole sizing, guying, and anchoring.

Responsibilities
  • Identify existing telephone plant, electric, and other utilities on site plans and in the field
  • Number existing poles and new poles being placed
  • Review site plans and indicate existing telephone plant location and relocate facilities
  • Coordinate with other utilities involved and obtain right of ways and easements where required
  • Determine if any work is billable and size cable, possibly combining or downsizing existing cables
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have their own tools, such as a pole stick, pull finder, guy rule, wheel, range finder, etc. and a strong understanding of OSP engineering principles.
