Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for visits or admissions, and provide specific services and education as determined by providers in accordance with licensure and policy.
- Maintain and monitor electronic health records, ensuring all information is current and updated.
- Clean and maintain the environment, work area, and equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
- Communicate effectively with patients, significant others, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient needs as directed, and documenting care consistent with documentation guidelines.
- Engage in process and quality improvement activities, making recommendations to improve operational efficiency and implement new services.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
- 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent required within 120 days of hire.
This role is based in the Primary Care Practice at Corewell Health's Royalton location. The successful candidate will work a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday, with a 40-hour workweek.
