Position Summary: We are in search of a caring and dedicated Child Behavioral Support Specialist to become a part of our Comprehensive Services team. The successful candidate will engage directly with children and families, offering practical behavioral assistance and aiding in the execution of personalized care strategies. This role necessitates an individual who is patient, understanding, and adept at working with children facing behavioral difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized support to children in various environments, including home, school, and community, as part of a comprehensive service plan.
- Assist in formulating and executing behavioral intervention techniques customized to meet each child's specific requirements.
- Observe and document the child's behavior, advancements, and any notable changes during sessions.
- Collaborate with the Services Coordinator, families, and other professionals to maintain consistency in care delivery.
- Guide children in developing coping mechanisms, social skills, and essential life competencies.
- Engage in regular team discussions to review progress and modify care strategies as necessary.
- Support families in understanding and applying behavioral strategies within their daily routines.
- Provide crisis management and assistance during challenging circumstances.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in psychology, education, or a related discipline is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in social services, case management, or a related area.
- Prior experience working with children facing behavioral challenges, preferably within a comprehensive service framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for establishing rapport with children and families.
- Capability to remain composed and patient in high-pressure situations.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
