We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist RNs with daily patient care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
- Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, temperatures, and intake/output.
- Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Perform purposeful rounding and communicate patient observations and concerns to RNs.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, including room setup and patient orientation.
- Collect and process patient specimens, and perform point-of-care testing as needed.
- Maintain patient call lights and respond promptly to patient requests.
- Complete various errands and tasks, including tray delivery and linen management.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and assistive devices.
- Support patient nutritional needs, including diet review and tray setup.
- Assist with maintaining skin integrity and providing special patient supplies.
- Perform tasks related to infection prevention, including hand hygiene and sterile procedures.
- Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
This role requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with exposure to blood and body fluids. Protective clothing and equipment will be provided as necessary.
