Job Title: Registered Nurse, Operating Room

Join our team at Dartmouth Health as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at our Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) in Lebanon, NH.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized plans of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Utilize critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary.
  • Practice in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent, and assist patients and families in expressing self-determination.
  • Actively seek feedback and act to improve performance, engaging in the governance of practice and mentoring colleagues for the advancement of nursing practice and the profession.
  • Assume authority and accountability for the nursing care of patients while appropriately delegating elements of care to others members of the care delivery team in accordance with laws, regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize and organize time to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Actively seek out the most current evidence and standards and apply and translate to daily practice, role-modeling a culture of inquiry and developing new knowledge by contributing to research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice at the local level.
  • Communicate effectively in a variety of formats in all areas of practice, actively partnering with others to effect change that produces positive outcomes through the exchange of knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Associate Degree (ADN) prepared nurses with 2 years' experience.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire.
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred, required within six months upon hire.
