Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients within a clinical setting, adhering to established standards of practice. In collaboration with the Practice Manager, this role supervises clinical staff and ensures the smooth operation of the clinic.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program or a program recognized for candidacy status by an accrediting body.
  • Possession of a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio.
  • Fulfillment of continuing education requirements to maintain licensure.
  • Completion of Chemotherapy/Biotherapy ONS course certification within the first year of employment.
  • Certification as an Oncology Nurse (OCN) through ONCC to be obtained within the first two years of employment.
Required Experience and Training:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in an oncology clinic or similar healthcare environment.
  • Experience in coordinating patient care in an outpatient setting is preferred.
Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong understanding of nursing theory, practice, and patient care evaluation.
  • Familiarity with organizational policies and procedures related to patient care.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and instruments for patient care.
  • Awareness of safety hazards and precautions to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Ability to apply and adapt nursing principles and techniques for ongoing patient care.
  • Competence in taking medical histories and interpreting findings.
  • Skill in maintaining accurate records, writing reports, and handling correspondence.
  • Capability to develop and uphold departmental quality assurance standards.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the community.
  • Commitment to maintaining quality control standards.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Capacity to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Competency in interacting with diverse patient populations, respecting their needs for dignity and self-respect.

Compensation for this position ranges from $33.00/hr to $47.38/hr. This salary range represents the base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Various factors, including relevant experience and geographical location, are considered when determining the starting pay rate.
