Job Summary

This position performs diagnostic computerized tomography scanning procedures to produce high-quality examinations in accordance with standards, regulations, and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives supervision of work activities from the Mgr, Radiology and does not supervise any other position.
  • Assists in training of imaging students as needed and provides CT safety lectures to hospital staff members.
  • Maintains professional and technical competency through ongoing knowledge and self-improvement.
  • Participates in the evaluation and development of new procedures, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Performs diagnostic computerized tomography scanning procedures and exams, determining proper techniques and positioning for optimal results.
  • Finalizes functions, including coding using radiology information system (RIS) for timely and accurate patient information and charge capture.
  • Archives records in accordance with Radiologist specifications and performs regular equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Provides CT safety information and lectures to patients and families to ensure thorough understanding of procedure protocols.
