Job Summary

Covenant Health Inc. is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology Clinic team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and coordinate care planning with other disciplines as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Coordinate care planning with other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Adhere to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
  • Precept new employees/students as needed.
  • Review clinical performance of preceptee with office manager or clinical instructor/supervisor.
  • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies.
  • Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and assist in patient assessment.
  • Accurately record history and perform basic triage procedures per policy.
  • After retrieving condition of patients, create nursing history and discuss recommendations for appropriate interventions to appropriate practitioner.
  • Clinical expertise and knowledge are such that individual can resolve complex patient/management/physician problems without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records.
  • Maintain all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
  • Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.
  • Inspect area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards and take corrective action when violations occur.
  • Schedule all outside patient appointments per physician order and relay accurately to patients.
  • Take calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relay appropriate information to practitioner in a timely manner.
  • Assure test results are received and relayed to the patient in a timely manner.
  • Complete medical orientation checklist.
  • Initiate appropriate patient education.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Implement care appropriate to diagnosis and per physician order.
  • Problem solve and coordinate clinic patient care with physician supervision.
  • Demonstrate competence in performing skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Collaborate with the patient, physician, and other care team members as part of a team-based approach to overall patient care.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
  • Licensure Requirement: Must have a valid Tennessee RN license. CPR, OSHA training annually.
