Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pleasantly greet patients, introduce yourself, confirm patient identification, and explain procedures in a manner that is understood.
  • Assist physicians during Interventional Radiology procedures, including angiography, biliary drainages, nephrostomy & biopsies.
  • Perform general, diagnostic x-rays as needed.
  • Provide imaging in the surgical setting for diagnostic and vascular cases as needed.
  • Receive consultation requests, checking for special instructions, and consult with physicians as needed.
  • Select and operate equipment appropriately and/or per manufacturer and industry guidelines.
  • Follow prescribed techniques in administering x-rays.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all supplies (catheters, guide wires, etc.) and assist with proper billing and inventory control.
  • Utilize the hospital information system/Radiology information system to access pertinent patient records and reports.
  • Obtain appropriate patient history and document relevant data.
  • Properly use equipment, reporting malfunctions to proper personnel.
  • Train technologists in Interventional Radiology area and teach clinical affiliated students.
  • Lift, move, and transport patients via wheelchair or cart. Position patients as needed for procedures.
  • Identify problems and communicate appropriately to immediate supervisor, offering solutions as appropriate.
  • Be available for emergency cases on a rotational basis.
Requirements
  • Must be ARRT Registered Technologist and maintain requirements for the registry.
  • Maintain licensure by State of Ohio, Department of Health.
  • Interventional Radiology experience desirable, but not required.
  • Must be certified in CPR and maintain certification.
  • Proficient in setting up and maintaining sterile field.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is fast-paced and requires multi-tasking.
  • Uses proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift patient from carts, wheelchairs, or other transport devices, onto imaging table/couch.
