Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Analyst to join our team at First Mid-Illinois Bancshares. As a Credit Analyst, you will play a critical role in evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial loan relationships and providing recommendations to loan officers and the loan committee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Credit Analyses: Conduct thorough credit analyses and financial statement reviews on commercial loan relationships to assess credit risk and provide recommendations.
  • Create Professional Credit Presentations: Develop professional credit presentations that summarize borrower financial condition, evaluate repayment capacity, and provide collateral coverage analysis.
  • Monitor Loan Requests: Assign risk ratings to loan requests based on established written lending policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Research Industry Information: Gather industry-specific information from external sources and provide analysis to support credit decisions.
  • Investigate Credit Sources: Research and analyze credit information from various sources, including credit bureaus, Experian Business Credit, and industry trends.
  • Review Analyst Work: Provide feedback and guidance to junior analysts to ensure high-quality credit analysis.
  • Meet with Commercial Customers: Foster relationships with commercial customers and provide credit expertise to enhance the bank's understanding of credits.
  • Complete Credit Administration Tasks: Perform annual reviews, financial covenant tracking, and borrowing base tracking as assigned.
  • Stay Current with Training: Complete required training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or commensurate banking experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software, specifically Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Formal training in Microsoft Excel.
