We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on the 3rd floor Med/Surg/Tele unit at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. As a Clinical Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care to a defined group of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Organize, plan, direct, coordinate, and provide patient care based on the Watson Model of Care.
- Identify and demonstrate abilities to meet special needs and considerations of Age and Population Specific awareness.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient plans of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members using the SBAR method.
- Document patient care, including assessment, interdisciplinary plan of care, implementation, evaluation, and the Watson Model of Care.
- Anticipate and address variables affecting patient comfort and alter physical and psychosocial interventions accordingly.
- Assist patients and families to maximize sense of control and actively participate in their recovery.
- Utilize appropriate resources to meet patient needs and achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with Care Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience, with a minimum of 12 months of Med/Surg/Tele or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Basic EKG Competence.
- Certification in Progressive Critical Care Nursing or Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card within 90 days of hire.
