We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff System Safety/Functional Safety Engineer to join our team at MediaTek. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our automotive products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement functional safety architectures for automotive systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety risks, and develop strategies to improve overall system safety.
  • Conduct thorough safety analyses, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) analysis.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety cases, safety plans, and safety reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and other stakeholders on safety-related matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest safety standards, regulations, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our safety practices.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in functional safety engineering, with a strong background in automotive safety.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing functional safety architectures, and ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and UL 4600.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering, with a strong background in automotive safety.
  • Experience with safety analysis tools and methodologies, such as FMEA, FTA, and HACCP.
  • Knowledge of automotive safety standards and regulations, including SAE J3016 and SAE J2980.
  • Experience with safety documentation and reporting, including safety cases and safety plans.
