Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Position Available

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide excellent direct care to our residents on a daily basis. The incumbent will perform assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of residents, including assisting with activities of daily living, administering specified medications, and supervising non-licensed nursing staff.
Responsibilities
• Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and understands the impact of those decisions.
• Sets and manages priorities, accepts calls from staff during nights and weekends, and meets with oncoming and departing licensed practical nurses to discuss resident conditions and any occurrences from the shift.
• Responsible for making sure communications are clear, accurate, and timely, counting controlled substances with off-going nurses, and assuming responsibility for assuring accuracy of count before accepting keys.
• Checks, orders, and administers prescribed medication with 100% accuracy, ensuring the correct dosage by never pre-pouring medications, and demonstrating knowledge of important medication interactions and side effects.
• Ensures medication cart is locked at all times, obtains pertinent information, and completes all required forms as established by policy and procedure.
• Responsible for completing and maintaining the ECC and LNS logs, service plan, progress notes, monthly summaries, and follows healthcare providers' orders.
• Assists in completing evaluations when needed for residents, provides hands-on care on an as-needed basis to meet the needs of the residents, and works with the ADORS in reviewing and investigating all incident reports and recommends appropriate action and follow-up to the DORS/Executive Director.
• Understands and adheres to the ALF regulations pertaining to assisted living healthcare laws, maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.
• Responsible for always practicing good body mechanics and safe working habits, knows, understands, and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations, and takes time to give associates in nursing daily feedback on their performance.
• Participates in the associates' performance evaluations when requested by the DORS, ensures associates participate in activities provided to residents as described in the activities calendar, and responds promptly and courteously to residents' requests for assistance, including phone calls and requests from family and visitors.
• Ensures there is a safe, clean, and orderly environment for all residents, supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates, and wears clean and appropriate dress per established policy.
• Understands and complies with HIPAA regulations, is considered essential personnel especially during emergencies, takes the initiative in work, seeks out additional information, and offers solutions/suggestions.
• Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested, and willingly takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Resident Services/Nursing Department, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, and is responsible for training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
