About the RoleAs a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will play a critical role in saving lives and making a direct impact in the medical transport industry. Our pilots are responsible for ensuring the safe transport of medical crews and patients, adhering to strict Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Methods policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, verifying the aircraft's airworthiness before each flight.
- Final authority on aircraft operations and passenger, cargo, and equipment safety.
- Ensure the medical flight team is familiar with the aircraft's medical systems and interior.
- Complete required documentation and participate in flight planning and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Commercial & Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft.
- ATP rating in category meets this requirement.
- First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
- Regular scheduled attendance.
- Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 10%.
