Job OverviewThe Academy Charter School's Wyandanch Middle School is seeking a dedicated and innovative STEM educator to join our team. As a valued member of our instructional staff, you will play a critical role in shaping the academic journey of our students.

Role SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality STEM instruction through project-based learning methods, utilizing technology to promote creativity and collaboration among students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instructional Expertise: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national standards, incorporating real-world applications and hands-on activities.
  • Technology Integration: Utilize various digital tools and platforms to enhance student learning, promoting collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a well-organized and respectful classroom environment, encouraging active participation and motivation among students.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their growth and development.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Work closely with colleagues and school leaders to share best practices, develop new ideas, and improve instructional strategies.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in a public high school or charter school setting, or similar background.
  • Knowledge of International Technology Standards and curriculum design principles.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field from an accredited college or university; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • New York State certification is highly desirable but not essential.

Benefits and CompensationWe offer a competitive salary range of $62,500 - $95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Academy is committed to pursuing a diverse workforce and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
