LifeLong Medical Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at our William Jenkins Health Center in Richmond, CA. Responsibilities

As a Family Nurse Practitioner at LifeLong Medical Care, you will be responsible for providing preventive and primary health services in a Family Practice Community Health Clinic setting. This will include conducting physical examinations, assessing clinical status, and establishing and maintaining medical records. You will also be responsible for ordering and/or performing laboratory and screening tests, requesting outside consultations and evaluations as needed, and providing education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers. Additionally, you will support and participate in triage functions, both by phone and walk-in, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner who is committed to the provision of primary care services for the underserved, with demonstrated ability and sensitivity in working with a variety of people from low-income populations with diverse educational, lifestyle, ethnic, and cultural origins. You will have the ability to take the initiative, work independently, and make sound judgments within established guidelines, as well as establish and maintain effective working relations with staff, clinical providers, managers, and external agencies or organizations. You will also have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, and be able to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and be culturally sensitive. A strong organizational, administrative, multi-tasking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills are also required. You will be able to work effectively under pressure in a positive, friendly manner, and be flexible and adaptive to change. You will also be able to conduct yourself in internal and external settings in a way that reflects positively on LifeLong Medical Care as an organization of professional, confident, and sensitive staff. Finally, you will have the ability to continuously scan the environment, identifying opportunities for improvement and intersections with other departments of LifeLong Medical Care and partner organizations.

Requirements

Current California NP or PA license is required, as well as training and experience in geriatrics, internal medicine, and/or family practice with board eligibility or certification. Experience with electronic health records is also preferred. Community Health Center experience, experience as part of a team-based care model, and EMR Epic experience are also desirable. A DEA certification is also required. CAQH PAVE/ORP is also required.

Benefits

LifeLong Medical Care offers a competitive salary range of $123,000-$144,000/year, pro-rated depending on years since licensed, sign-on bonus, and excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, dependent and domestic partner coverage, 403(b) retirement savings plan, and loan repayment programs. LifeLong is a qualified site for federal and state loan repayment programs (HPSA score is 21). Acceptance rates may vary year to year based on funding levels and the number of applicants.
