Job Summary

As a key member of the MetroHealth team, the Hospital Food Service Representative plays a vital role in providing exceptional food-related services to patients and customers. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take food orders from patients and customers, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of meals.
  • Process patient meal information into the CBORD Nutrition Service Suite program, maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties to support the Food and Nutrition Services Department, including retrieving and replacing records/files.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient and customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electronic competency to work with various software programs.
  • Strong customer service skills, including effective listening skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Must pass a food and nutrition skills competency within 6-month introductory period.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of nutrition as related to therapeutic diets.
  • 1 year of experience working in a hospital setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
