Job Summary

We are seeking highly qualified adjunct instructors to join our English department at College of the Canyons. As an adjunct instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses, including English composition, literature, and creative writing. Responsibilities
  • Teach English courses, including composition, literature, and creative writing
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse student populations
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in English, literature, or a related field
  • OR - Bachelor's degree in English or a related field and a Master's degree in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing, or journalism
  • OR - Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education AND official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units
Working Conditions
  • Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes
  • Adjunct salary rate: starting at $88.30 per hour
