Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer advanced medical care utilizing equipment such as defibrillators, EKG monitors, and intravenous fluids.
  • Operate the ambulance efficiently, ensuring timely response to emergencies.
  • Maintain all necessary certifications and training.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch to gather essential call information.
  • Ensure the ambulance is clean, stocked, and ready for immediate deployment.
  • Document patient care and billing details accurately for each call.
  • Adhere to policies regarding response and turnaround times.
  • Consider patient needs and insurance when determining transport destinations.
  • Be prepared to extend shifts as needed.
  • Collaborate professionally with healthcare and public safety personnel.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must successfully complete a Physical Agility Test.
  • Good physical stamina and endurance are essential.
  • Ability to lift and carry various types of equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); advanced education preferred.
  • Current state Paramedic License (must be presented during the interview).
  • Valid State Driver's License (must be presented during the interview).
  • Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS or PHTLS (must be presented during the interview).
  • Driving record must comply with AMR's safety policies.
