Carpentry Specialist

Sawtooth Wood Products is seeking a skilled Carpenter Craftsman to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for constructing and maintaining strong and long-lasting buildings and products.

• Pre-Construction
  • Verify that flooring, roofing, and drywall are level and compatible
  • Review blueprints and sketches to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements
• Construction
  • Examine and repair structures to ensure they meet safety and building code standards
  • Fabricate rafters, partitions, stairways, and window and door frames
  • Sculpt and assemble siding, drywall, kitchen cabinets, and furniture
  • Select and prepare logs for construction according to project plans and specifications
  • Cut, shape, and assemble logs using hand and power tools
  • Install insulation, windows, doors, and other fixtures in log structures
• Quality Control
  • Ensure all work meets safety and building code standards
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and other team members to achieve project goals

• Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completed carpentry apprenticeship required
  • Proven experience as a Log Carpenter or in a similar role
• Skills and Qualifications
  • Driver's license required
  • In-depth knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques
  • Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of wood properties and woodworking techniques
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy logs and equipment
