Job Title: Adult Psychiatrist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Psychiatrist to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a key member of our Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of our clinical and research programs.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that will involve delivering direct services to patients in an ambulatory setting, providing supervision to psychiatry trainees, and contributing to the educational experience of psychiatry residents and students. You will have the opportunity to establish expertise in a specialized clinical or research area and contribute to the division's recognition and advancement.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical services in an ambulatory setting, striving to provide exemplary care and support to patients.
  • Supervise resident physicians, guiding them in clinical practice, didactic sessions, and individual psychotherapy to foster their professional growth.
  • Contribute to the educational experience of psychiatry residents and students through comprehensive clinical practice and engaging didactic lectures.
  • Support departmental clinical needs across ambulatory and outreach settings, ensuring responsiveness and excellence in patient care.
  • Establish expertise in a specialized clinical or research area, contributing to the division's recognition and advancement.
  • Engage in clinical and administrative on-call duties, weekend availability, and continuous performance improvement.
  • Participate in Medical School and Department Committees, fulfilling additional responsibilities as delegated by the Department Chair to uphold our department's standards of care and education.
Requirements:
  • M.D., D.O. or equivalent and ABPN board certification/board eligibility in General Psychiatry.
  • Must hold a medical license (or be eligible for licensure) in the State of Kansas and Missouri.
  • Ambulatory Experience.
