Job Summary

At Bayfront Health, we are seeking a skilled Sonography Professional to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality sonographic exams and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with radiologists to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintain a demeanor that is conducive to quality care.
  • Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adhere to Bayfront Health's mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
  • Assess the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient clinical history, and assure that the information is accurately documented.
  • Position patients, equipment, associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Administer medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
  • Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assist in supervising student sonographers and training new sonographers.
  • Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers.
  • Assist with directing daily workflow.
  • Orient and precept staff.
  • Participate on committees.
  • Maintain punctual attendance consistent with Bayfront Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Bayfront Health policies and procedures.
  • Follow established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
  • Maintain well-stocked and organized work areas.
  • May be required to work at any facility.
  • Provide patient transport.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in applied science and graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
  • Maintains RDMS physics registry and two ARDMS registries.
Experience
One (1) year of experience in sonography. Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography.
