Overview

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, working closely with physicians to provide effective respiratory therapy. This position requires strong communication skills, a compassionate approach, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy, adhering to physicians' orders.
  • Consult with physicians to assess the effectiveness of therapy and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain life support equipment and provide ventilator support during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Perform duties in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a program approved by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed with the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Registered as a therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • BLS/CPR certification through an American Heart Association approved course.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS Provider certification through an American Heart Association course.
