The Patient Services Coordinator role is essential for delivering exceptional phone and administrative assistance to the team at Flagstaff Surgical Associates, P.A.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Reception: Welcome and support patients and healthcare providers, exemplifying a positive demeanor and outstanding customer service. Ensure collection of all necessary paperwork using a tablet and manage copayments or outstanding balances.
- Patient Registration: Review billing notifications, update patient information and documentation, and secure all required signatures before the patient proceeds to the back office.
- Telephone Management: Handle incoming calls, arrange patient appointments, check voicemail messages, and return calls promptly on a daily basis.
- Fax Handling: Review faxes in the afternoon and direct them to the appropriate medical chart or staff member.
- Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate appointments for specialized medical services, verify insurance details as requested by referring providers, and communicate with patients regarding all scheduling needs in a timely manner.
- Chart Preparation: Ensure all patient records are accurate, complete, compliant, and up-to-date. Verify that all relevant alerts are documented in the chart the week prior, confirm insurance details, and update billing alerts. Ensure no duplicate charts exist and confirm referrals and copayment information are correctly recorded and ready for collection.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed by management.
