We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Municipal Worker to join our team. As a Municipal Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled labor tasks related to an assigned division. This may include routine physical labor, on-the-job instruction, and operating equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and forklifts.
Key Responsibilities- Perform manual labor tasks such as cultivating and fertilizing flowers, grass, and shrubs; basic building maintenance; shoveling snow, mowing, and basic irrigation; clearing and maintaining landfill ditches; storm water maintenance; repairing and maintaining roadways; and working with crews performing basic construction and maintenance repairs.
- Operate a variety of equipment and vehicles, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, forklifts, and light sanitation vehicles.
- Perform basic inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with installing street signs, barriers, and painting street markings.
- Provide general customer service and communicate with the public regarding fees, policies, rules, and general information about the facility or event.
- Represent the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
- Follow all City safety procedures and report all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of one year of experience performing manual labor in construction, energy, or manufacturing industry, building maintenance, or grounds maintenance utilizing light hand or power tools preferred
- Possession of a valid Wyoming Class B Commercial Driver's License with applicable endorsements per assigned division
This position may be eligible to naturally progress to a Municipal Worker II. Prior to any natural progression, the Department Head must justify that there is an operational need, and budget accordingly, prior to an incumbent obtaining the necessary requirements, or regularly performing work at the higher level.

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must utilize direct deposit for payroll purposes.
Driving records are required for all new employees regardless of the position's driving requirements. If the employee has not held a Wyoming driver's license for the last three years, the employee must provide at their own initiation and expense a driving record from their previous state(s) of residence.
