Ash Grove Cement, a CRH company, is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by identifying and mitigating hazards, conducting regular inspections, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct investigations into workplace incidents and near-misses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with plant supervisors to develop and implement safety procedures, and provide guidance on safety best practices.
- Administer the fire protection program, including inspections and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Develop and maintain safety training programs, including MSHA Part 46 training, first aid, and CPR training.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters, including risk assessment, hazard recognition, and safety procedures.
- Develop and maintain safety records, including injury and illness reports, and safety training records.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, safety management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the safety and health field, preferably in the cement or mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA and MSHA standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, and signs.
