Job Summary:

The C-Store Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the C-Store Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the store in alignment with company policies. This position is essential for maximizing revenue, enhancing customer satisfaction, controlling expenses, and driving profitability. The Assistant Manager will also assist in recruiting, training, and retaining high-quality staff to maintain a clean, well-stocked, and welcoming environment for customers.

Customer satisfaction is our priority. It is vital that our customers receive our full attention and appreciation for their business. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, energetic, and focused on customer service.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrive on time and work the assigned shifts, including at least two nights per week.
  • Wear the proper uniform with name badge during shifts.
  • Complete all general shift duties and specific tasks assigned by the Area Manager.
  • Operate within company guidelines during shifts.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal beverage laws.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to every customer.
  • Guide and assist store staff in maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards, aiming for a monthly inspection grade of at least 90%.
  • Complete required RTO Training.
  • Ensure cleanliness in all areas, including restrooms, parking lots, trashcans, fuel islands, and more.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new employees.
  • Oversee daily workflow within the department.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Manage employee discipline and terminations according to company policy.
  • Ensure adherence to cash handling procedures and timely bank deposits.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and able to stand for the entire shift.
  • Ability to work in a cooler at 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual acuity required for checking identification and processing transactions.
  • Ability to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products.
  • Must be able to climb ladders for cleaning purposes.
  • Basic math skills at the eighth-grade level are necessary.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Work Week Requirements:

Assistant Managers are hourly employees expected to work five days a week, including weekends, when Managers are off. If performance expectations are not met, the Assistant Manager may be required to work a minimum of six days until standards are achieved.
